C.I.F. - Innovation Fruit Consortium
Research and development of Apple trees
CIF develops and promotes new Apple varieties which are formed by different breeding programs. The main project in which the CIF is engaged in research and development is the genetic improvement program of the Edmund Mach Foundation of S. Michele all'Adige.
Within this project the CIF has two main tasks: addressing the objectives of intersections and validate new selections primarily produced in the province of Trento, at the farms associated with producer organisations. At the end of the evaluation process of the new selections on CIF shall ensure their protection and the definition of a process of commercial exploitation.
CIF collaborate and also assesses new selections and varieties that are offered by all programs of breeding of the Apple-tree in the world.
